How to configure the Attendant Console for Microsoft Teams


Attendant Console by Anywhere365 can be deployed in a Teams tenant to manage calls to and from the Attendant Console.

This page guides you through the deployment of the Attendant Console in an existing Microsoft 365 environment.

Configuration consists of 4 steps:

  1. Allow the Anywhere365 Attendant Console to access organization resources such as contacts and presence.
  2. Allow the Anywhere365 Calling Bot to manage calls for the organization’s receptionists.
  3. Installation and configuration of the Attendant Console App for Microsoft Teams.
  4. Configuration of the endpoints for the Attendant Console queue(s).

Only an application administrator can perform the above steps.



The Anywhere365 Attendant Console supports two Phone System deployments: Microsoft Calling Plan and Direct Routing.

Depending on the Phone System deployment used for your Teams environment (Calling Plan or Direct Routing), the following requirement apply:

When using Microsoft Calling Plan:

  • Microsoft Calling Plan configured for PSTN calling
  • Free Phone System – Virtual User licenses for the use of queues, must be purchased
    You need to order one virtual license per service number (more info)
  • Free Microsoft Phone Service numbers (for the queues)
    To order them, use the Microsoft Teams Admin Center – Voice – Add menu, or fill in de Microsoft LOA pdf document according to your area found here.
  • A user with administrative rights in the Microsoft 365 customer tenant (more info)

When using Direct Routing:

  • Direct routing configured for PSTN calling
  • For the use of queues, free Phone System – Virtual User licenses must be purchased
    You need to order one virtual license per service number (more info)
  • A user with administrative rights in the Microsoft 365 customer tenant (more info)


Consent for the application

To have the application work in the tenant, consent must be given for all users to allow it to function within the organization.

It is mandatory to give consent to Anywhere365 Attendant Console App and Anywhere365 Calling Bot.

After completing each consent, you will be redirected to the Attendant Console page. It is not necessary to login or create a trial in order to continue with next the configuration steps.


Step 1

This will allow users to use the application as a stand-alone web application with Microsoft Teams.

Step 2

Also a consent must be given to the calling bot back-end of Anywhere365 to allow it to start and receive calls in the organization.

Step 3

For configuration of the endpoints for the queue please consult the Deployment Guide.

To create the endpoints you also need a PowerShell script. You can get it here.

Teams setup policies

Using the application in Microsoft Teams

After giving consent, the app can also be installed as a Teams App.

You can install Attendant Console by Anywhere365 in Teams via the Teams App Catalog.

When the App is not available for your location, you might upload it specifically for your tenant in the Teams admin center.

We recommend administrators to use the Microsoft Teams admin center to create an App setup policy to pin the App at the users.
